President-elect Prabowo Subianto recently penned an article in NewsWeek, a prominent American media outlet, on June 12, 2024. The article, titled ‘The Road Ahead for Indonesia—One of the Fastest Growing Economies in Asia’, outlined Prabowo’s vision and mission for his upcoming presidency after his inauguration on October 20.
Prabowo emphasized his commitment to improving the quality of life for the Indonesian people as his top priority. He also reiterated his support for the free nutritious meal program for all schoolchildren in Indonesia, believing that this initiative will significantly enhance the country’s human resources.
Despite not mentioning the development of the new capital, Nusantara (IKN), in Kalimantan in his article, there were speculations about Prabowo’s stance on the project. However, the Deputy Chairman of Gerindra’s Executive Board, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, clarified that the omission of IKN in the article did not indicate a lack of support for the project.
Dasco reassured the public that Prabowo would continue the programs initiated by President Jokowi, including the IKN project. He highlighted Prabowo’s previous statements in various media outlets affirming his commitment to continuing Jokowi’s programs.
