Indonesia’s Defense Minister and President-elect Prabowo Subianto attended the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics on the Seine River in Paris on July 26, 2024. Prabowo stood up to greet the Indonesian contingent as they paraded past, despite the heavy rain. Fourteen Indonesian athletes took part in the parade, wearing sporty and elegant outfits designed by Didit Hediprasetyo. The opening ceremony, the first to be held outside the main stadium, saw athletes parading along the Seine River on 85 boats, passing by iconic landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame Cathedral. The Olympics will run from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
