Ankara – The friendship between Indonesia’s Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was evident following their private meeting in Ankara, Turkey on July 30.
As Prabowo was preparing to leave the Palace and say goodbye to Erdoğan, the Turkish President personally accompanied him to the waiting car outside, signaling him to proceed with his hand.
“It is an honor for me,” Prabowo remarked before getting into the car and shaking hands with Erdoğan.
During the meeting with Erdoğan, Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s dedication to strengthening its strategic relationship and partnership with Turkey, specifically in the areas of defense and defense industry cooperation.
“We are committed to furthering the longstanding friendship between our two nations,” Prabowo stated.
Furthermore, Prabowo emphasized the importance of Turkey as a key partner for Indonesia, stressing the necessity for both countries to continue building trust and improving their military capabilities.
While in Turkey, Prabowo also held meetings with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and various leaders in Turkey’s defense industry.
