jpnn.com, BALI – Deputy Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Alue Dohong, appreciates the ENSIA (Environmental and Social Innovation Award) 2024 event for encouraging businesses to implement environmental and social aspects as new business strategies.
Innovations that ensure business sustainability in the future.
“I appreciate the holding of this event for the third year to encourage businesses in environmental management and community empowerment as mandated in Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation No. 1 of 2021 concerning PROPER,” said Alue Dohong.
Alue added that in conducting their business, businesses need to manage their business strategies by maintaining a balance, not only focusing on financial benefits but also environmental and social aspects.
“The participation of businesses in ENSIA is a commitment to openness and acceptance of external assessment from the panel team regarding strategic steps (innovations) in managing environmental and social aspects, which can later become the new shared value of the company globally,” said Alue.
At ENSIA 2024, Alue also welcomed the adoption of the theme Green Leadership Proper Gold, namely Poverty Alleviation, Reduction of Disparities, Women’s Empowerment, Healthy Food Systems for Humans and Ecosystems, and Transition to Clean Energy as categories for the recipients of the inspiring local hero social innovation awards.
President Director of PT SUCOFINDO, Jobi Triananda, said that the presence of ENSIA provides opportunities for environmental and social innovators in efforts to reduce carbon emissions, empower communities, and support PROPER as a government policy.
“For businesses, as participants, this awarding is a company branding and a commitment to sustainable environmental management and community empowerment. Technically, the ENSIA award can be used by businesses as a support document for the Green and Gold PROPER implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK),” said Jobi Triananda.
