Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia’s Minister of Defense, and President Joko Widodo witnessed the Indonesian Navy’s fleet display in Jakarta Bay on September 28. The event showcased the Navy’s warships and defense equipment in both Sailing Pass and Flying Pass demonstrations.
Chief of Naval Staff, Muhammad Ali, mentioned that a total of 55 ships and 25 naval aircraft participated in the parade, all showcasing defense equipment produced domestically. The ships, including MLRF, PKR, SIGMA-class warships, KRI Dewa Ruci, Combat Boats, LPD class vessels, and KRI Cakra 401 submarine, sailed past the KRI Dr. Radjiman Wedyodiningrat (RJW-992) where Jokowi and Prabowo were seated.
Various aircraft such as Cassa NC-212, CN 235 MP, helicopters, VIP King Air aircraft, and UAVs were also featured in the aerial display. The naval parade included ships from different Indonesian maritime agencies and fishing vessels from Indonesia’s fisheries fleet.
The ceremony also included the awarding of the Samkarya Nugraha Medal of Honor to KRI Nanggala-402 and the conferment of the prestigious Hiu Kencana Brevet to President Jokowi by the Indonesian Navy’s Submarine Unit. Key officials like Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Hadi Tjahjanto, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Pratikno, and General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also attended the event.
