Prabowo Subianto, the Indonesian Minister of Defense and President-elect for 2024-2029, looked healthy and fit during his meeting with President Joko Widodo at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (8/7). Despite his recent leg surgery, Prabowo was seen joking around, striking a silat martial arts pose, and jogging lightly while interacting with the media.
When asked about his health, Prabowo responded with a thumbs up, indicating that he was feeling well. This appearance at the State Palace was the third time he had been seen in public since his operation at the National Defense Central Hospital (RSPPN) Panglima Besar Soedirman in Jakarta.
Prior to this meeting, Prabowo had already resumed his duties by attending the 78th Bhayangkara Day at the National Monument (Monas) on July 1, 2024. He also made a public appearance at the launch of the Indonesian team’s jersey for the Paris 2024 Olympics, which was designed by Didit Hediprasetyo and unveiled in Jakarta on July 5, 2024.
In a post on his personal Instagram on June 30, 2024, Prabowo thanked President Jokowi for his moral support and prayers during his recovery. He emphasized that the medical procedure was done for the nation and its people, despite the inherent risks involved.
“I am aware of the risks and understand the life-threatening stakes of the medical procedure. I reassure myself that all this is for the Nation and the Country,” Prabowo said in his post.
