Hasan Nasbi, a member of the Prabowo-Gibran Synchronization Task Force’s Communication Division, clarified that the rumor about the budget for nutritious free meals for school students being reduced to IDR 7,500 per child is not an official statement from the team. The rumor was sparked by economist Heriyanto Irawan from Verdhana Sekuritas, who claimed to have discussed the matter with Prabowo’s team.
Hasan stated that President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka’s main goal is to provide meals that meet nutritional standards. The team is currently reviewing various ideas and suggestions from different parties, with no specific figure set yet. The focus is on ensuring nutritional adequacy, which will be determined by nutrition experts.
The regions in Indonesia have diverse nutritional sources, leading to different local menus in each area. Hasan explained that the fulfillment of nutritional standards will be adjusted based on the availability of food ingredients and local menus in each region, resulting in varying prices.
Gibran also responded to the rumor, urging everyone not to report on uncertain matters and wait for confirmation. He mentioned that the ongoing trials for nutritious free meals are using a budget of IDR 15,000 per person, emphasizing the need for accurate information before making any claims.
