Prabowo Subianto, the Indonesian Defense Minister and president-elect, was captured in an interesting moment during a pencak silat exhibition in Paris, France on Saturday (27/07). He met with Indonesian badminton legend Greysia Polii during the event. Prabowo appeared delighted as he interacted with Greysia, who was accompanied by her husband, Felix Djimin, and their daughter, Jessia Selah Djimin.
Prabowo inquired about Jessia’s name while holding her hand as Felix carried her. Greysia and Felix introduced their daughter, who is under two years old, as Jessia. The encounter ended with a photo session, with Greysia politely asking Prabowo for a photo, to which he enthusiastically agreed.
The exhibition included a pencak silat demonstration as part of its activities, aimed at promoting awareness of this traditional Indonesian martial art on a global scale. As the Chairman of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (PB IPSI) for the 2021-2025 term, Prabowo is determined to elevate pencak silat to the status of an Olympic sport.
