Boost Children’s Focus with Free Nutritious Meals (MBG)

The Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program has been proven to enhance children’s concentration levels, leading to improved learning motivation among students. Research conducted in Aceh and supported by the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) revealed that students receiving Free Nutritious Meals showed increased concentration, contributing to better educational outcomes. The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) also found similar results in areas like Bogor and Papua, highlighting the positive impact of the MBG program on learning focus and cognitive performance, especially for students who skipped breakfast. The program was shown to boost attendance motivation and concentration at State Vocational School 6 (SMK Negeri 6) in Medan. Concentration, a key cognitive function, is critical for brain development in children and can be influenced by factors like learning motivation, nutritional intake, psychological well-being, and environmental conditions. Key nutrients such as protein, iron, and omega-3 fatty acids play a vital role in brain development and memory function. The MBG Program aims to address children’s nutritional needs, enhance cognitive potential, and intelligence. However, challenges remain, such as unhealthy consumption behavior among children and limited access to nutritious foods in some regions. By supporting the successful implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Program, stakeholders can ensure lasting benefits for future generations and society as a whole.
