President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized the government’s dedication to prioritizing the education of the nation’s youth during his State Budget 2026 Financial Note presentation at the House of Representatives’ plenary session in Jakarta. The proposed 2026 state budget, amounting to Rp 757.8 trillion, is the largest allocation for education in the country’s history. Prabowo highlighted the significance of quality education in producing globally competitive human resources and eradicating poverty, in line with the constitutional mandate to allocate 20% of the state budget to education. He outlined key priorities, including improving teacher welfare, enhancing vocational training, and aligning curricula with labor market demands to ensure the effective utilization of education funds. The budget breakdown includes funding for various education programs and scholarships, aimed at enhancing access to quality education for underprivileged children.
